Throughout his career Phil has worked to improve audit industry standards and make auditing services more practical and valuable. Morse Group’s strong presence in the local government and credit union industries has provided Phil with an opportunity to work with his peers in industry associations. These include the Local Government Auditors' Association, from 1989 to 2000 (including three years as Vice-Chairman), and the Australian Financial Institutions Auditors' Association Incorporated, (1987 to 2001), including 12 years as Secretary.
Phil joined our firm in 1984, became a partner in 1987 and the firm’s Managing Partner in 1999.
He had graduated from the University of New South Wales with a commerce degree, majoring in accounting and finance systems. He then joined KPMG for eight years working on a wide variety of audit assignments. During this period, Phil spent two years in their London office.
When Phil moved to Bathurst nearly 25 years ago he became involved with Apex. Since then, he has continued his involvement in various voluntary activities that serve the local community. Living in Bathurst has also fuelled Phil's interest in motor sport. He is a member of the Bathurst Light Car Club and is enthusiastic about improving his skills!
Phil is married to Lyn and they have two adult daughters who are pursuing careers in marketing.
